Hormones:

Hormones are prescribed on a case-by-case basis. It is preferred, but not required that patients present a letter from a therapist indicating that cross-sex hormone therapy is advised.

Generally, we recommend South Side Pharmacy for your HRT needs. They are very aware of the transgender population and will treat our patients courteously and with dignity. In addition, South Side Pharmacy will:

Compound ethinyl estradiol
Allow you to request your refills via email
Deliver your prescription to you for free if you live within the Houston area
Mail your prescriptions to you if you live outside the Houston area

Carry Letters:

If requested, patients are provided a "Carry" or sometimes called "Restroom" Letter. This letter will explain the process the patient is undertaking in medical terms.

Lab Workups:

Labs are a necessity for anyone undergoing hormonal sex reassignment. We understand that cost is an issue for many transgenders. We will work with you and the lab to ensure that your needs are met.
